My
family Story
My parents have two children, my elder brother and
me.
My dad is the chief editor
of a major newspaper in Jiangxi, and my mum was an accoutant. Dad is
very strict with us, especially in study and work. Thanks to dad, we
are able to achieve what we have today. Mum is gentle and kind. She
loves us very much. Our food and clothes are her biggest concern everyday.
Mom and dad seem to be assuming different responsibilities in nurturing
us.
I finished my bachelor
degree in 1999, and then found a job in Guangzhou, one of the most prosperous
cities in China. In that very year, I met my husband, Eric
Won, he is a nice, smart, and funny guy. (Like me, he has an
elder brother<right side in the pic>. His
Dad is Senior Engineer while his Mum is a doctor. They offered us
enormous help while we struggled for our future.) Two years later, we
got married.
Right after that we migrated to New
Zealand and started a new life. Looking back to those years in China,
my tenure in Amway has been the most unforgetable. Amway has endowed
me with lots of smart and interesting friends and amazing experiences.
Those days I spent with
Amway were absolutely memorable. I wouId always be proud of having been
part of this excellent community. I am now doing a master in business
at Massey University. Eric's pursuing
a master in finance at Auckland
University. Our life in New Zealand is quite different from that
in China, but great still. Sure, we miss our homeland and our family,
which we often see in our dreams. More over, we miss Chinese food very
much. The everyday Chinese dishes have become luxury here. By the way,
Eric's mum is very good at cooking,
so is my mum.
My brother Danny Chen
was born in 1974. A young man of enterprise and kind heart, he worked
with Industry and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC)
for years before pursuing postgraduate study in Vrije
Universiteit Brussel, a renowned university located in Brussels,
Belgium. He is even more hardworking than I am.
During years of work
in ICBC, he has published quite a number of works
in major newspapers and periodicals. In addition to publishing academic
works, he writes poems as well. One of his recent verses, "Far
and Away from Home", was published in Brussels.
Family is always a haven
that we can rest in. Here I'd like to express my heartfelt thanks to
my mum and dad, who have gone through a lot of pain in providing us
with the best upbringing possible.
